About

I have a ‘two-broke girls’ dream and it doesn’t involve cupcakes. This website is a digital entry of that journey and you are welcome to witness it.

Hola!

I am glad you found Brains & Beans! ♥

If you are a person whose mantras are,

  • Minimalism
  • Homemade food and
  • Exercise

All for a healthy body, mind and soul then this is the place for you.

Recipes and Wellness are the building blocks of Brains & Beans.

Under Recipe section you can find various cuisines,

  • Continental to downright delicious Indian dishes,
  • Crackers to chocolate chip cookies and kheers to Popsicles.

This is basically where you could see me experiment with food, substitute this for that. Especially, replacing sugar with jaggery. Check out my first ever Indian recipe Dry Idli Upma, it was a first try too!

Of course, things might get a little crazy when you live in a colourful country and a curious mind that wants to try different recipes. That’s why Brains & Beans will have a Glamourous food section where the so-called unhealthy foods (sorry, puff pastry) will reside.

Second is the Wellness section where I will share my wisdom gained through doing countless squats, burpees and sprints! I am on my way to chapter two of the amazing workout journey. This might as well serve as my journal.

I want to help conservative women who think it’s only for celebs or rich people to enjoy the privilege of a high end gym. That’s BS, isn’t it? You can always shape your body at home! The only equipment needed is your body and a never-dying persistence. I will also be covering what to eat to maintain a healthy body without going broke.

My interests and hobbies vary time to time. I like learning new things and it keeps my spirit going. At first, I wanted to write about all the things I was passionate of but on researching, I found that it is better to stick with a “niche”.

Although I disagree, I wanted to start slow and see how this thing goes. So I decide to pick two of the most important things in my life, working out/being a writer and combining it with another interest culminated by boredom and Masterchef Australia, Cooking!

It will keep the blog going even if I run out of other options. Have you seen what other people are cooking?

The menu is endless! How did we, the stone age neanderthals who survived with so little food have become such tech savvy foodies. This is entirely another reason why we should practice mindfulness and minimalism. The philosophy of we-have-only-one-life aside, ‘less is more’ is the key to a peaceful life. Of course, you don’t have to count the things you have in life with your fingers. I suppose you get my point.

Oooh, I think this is enough for the about page.
